All staff members shall learn to identify warning signs of suicide, how to assess the degree of risk, how to take preventive and referral precautions, and understand that they are responsible for reporting all suicide threats to the site administrator.
All staff members will annually sign a form indicating that they have read and understand the Muroc District Suicide Prevention Policy Handbook which describes how to identify “at risk” suicidal students, and the universally accepted warning symptoms of suicidal tendencies. It is important that the Muroc staff know how to approach and talk with potentially suicidal children.
Suicide prevention training will be offered annually to the junior/senior high school staff, students and parents.
