- Playground supervision begins at 7:30 a.m. Please do not bring your child to school before that time.
- The first bell rings at 7:45 a.m. (8:45 on Wednesdays) At that time, students will line up at the designated areas and they will be escorted into their classrooms by their teachers.
- School begins at 7:50 a.m. (8:50 on Wednesdays) Students will not be counted tardy until after 7:50 a.m. If your student arrives after 7:50 a.m., please escort them into the office for a tardy slip.
- School is dismissed at 2:15 p.m. for all grades.
- If your child will be absent from school, please call the office and state your child’s name, teacher’s name and reason for their absence. You may also e-mail your student’s absence to: branchrecords@muroc.k12.ca.us.
- Students are allowed to bring a snack for morning recess. Breakfast will be available and served in the cafeteria during morning recess. The cost is $1.75
- Cost for hot lunch is $3.00. For those students who bring their lunch, milk may be purchased for .35. There are four ways to add funds to your student’s meal account: pay at the school office, the cafeteria, or you can add funds using the internet by visiting http://www.mealpay.com. Students may also pay cash daily. Students may purchase breakfast, lunch, or milk using funds in their meal account. All meal account purchases are kept on record with the school cashier. A student’s meal account is only charged when a purchase is made. Please make sure there is money on your students account. A student with a zero balance or not enough money on their account will be sent to the office to call parents before they will be allowed to eat. Please make checks payable to Muroc Joint Unified School District.
- Students may ride their bicycles (scooters, skateboards, skates, etc..) to school; however, bicycles (and other wheeled transports, including Heelys) may NOT be ridden on campus. Students riding their bicycles (and other wheeled transports) on base must wear a helmet. Bike racks are located between the MPR and the 3rd grade wing for students in grades K-3, and for student in grades 4-6, the bicycle racks are located between the primary and intermediate playgrounds. Please provide a lock so all bicycles and scooters can be locked to the bike racks.
- ALL visitors are required to sign in at the office and obtain a visitors badge before entering the campus between the hours of 7:50-2:15.
- We ask that all parents utilize the dirt parking lot located on Forbes Avenue for student drop-offs. If you wish to get out of the car with your student, use the left lane to park. If you wish to drop off your student without leaving your car, please use the right hand ‘Kiss and Go Lane.’
- ‘Kiss and Go’ drop off is accessed on Forbes Avenue. Use the right hand lane and drive all the way to the gate. Open your right side doors only. Please have students ready to leave the vehicle upon arrival and do not unload bikes or scooters.
- Always meet your students on the campus and do not allow students to enter the parking lots alone. Please do not park on our fire or bus lanes.
- Teachers will send a supply list home the first week of school if they require special supplies for the classroom.
- If your child needs to be given medication during school hours, the office staff can administer it to them. Medicine must be in the original bottle with the prescription label, and the District “Medication to be Given at School” form must be completed by the prescribing doctor. Forms are available at the school. Students are not allowed to carry any medication with them at school, including “over the counter” medication.
