New Student Packet
Welcome! We are so happy to have your student enroll at Desert. Please download the New Student Packet. For your convenience, we have listed the following options to return the registration packet:

All registration packets need to be returned to the school before the last weekday in June. The school is closed the entire month of July; it reopens the first business day in August.

Making appointments/Walk In’s
Anyone wishing to speak with the counselors must make an appointment with me. We do accept walk in appointments HOWEVER chances of meeting with a counselor is highly dependent on the counselor’s schedule. You may or may not be seen that same day. You are welcome to call me at anytime to check the counselors schedule.
Request forms for early finals must be requested at least ten days prior to finals. Once a request has been turned into the office, it will be reviewed by our principle who will then either allow the early finals to take place or deny them. If denied, you will be notified and the form will be returned with a brief reason for denial.
Transcript request are accepted by fax, emails, and phone calls. The information needed to complete a transcript request is as follows:
- Name at time of graduation
- Graduation year
- Birth date
- Number of Copies
- Official or non-official
- Housing address or Institution/business address of where you would like the transcript sent
Transcripts can be faxed or sent over email; HOWEVER, they are not considered official.
Enrolling your student
If you plan on enrolling/transferring your student to Desert JR.SN. High school, please pick up an enrollment pack from the counseling office or visit our online enrollment: http://muroc.k12.ca.us/student-enrollment/
Inter-district forms: For anyone who is not affiliated with the base or who do not reside within Muroc school district will need this form. This form must be turned into our district office located in North Edwards WITH a release from district letter from their current district. The request for enrollment/transfer must be approved by our district and principal before your student can be enrolled. These forms must be renewed each year.
Residency forms: For anyone who is residing within our district, working and/or living on base. You do not need approval from our district to enroll nor a release from current district. (However, other factors can play a role in the enrollment process.) If you are not military but working on base you must work at least ten hours during the school week otherwise, you will need to follow directions for inter-districts.
Please make sure all forms are filled out and the check list located within the enrollment papers is complete before turning the packet into the counseling office.
ANY MISSING INFORMATION CAN PROLONG THE ENROLLMENT PROCESS!
An appointment will be made to speak with the counselor to set up a student schedule when the paper work is returned. All enrollments are considered walk in UNLESS prior arrangements were made. Please check the Making Appointments/Walk In section of this page.
