RESEARCH/TERM PAPERS

Every student in grades 5-12 shall be actively involved in a research/term paper writing program. This articulated program shall initiate in grades 5-8 with writing, research, and library skills being targeted. Commencing in grades 9-12, each student will be actively involved in writing research and/or term papers each year.

As developed from State Department of Education Curriculum, Frameworks, Guidelines and Standards, Muroc Joint Unified School District grade level standards shall reflect the specific objectives/expectations to be accomplished yearly. Grade level standards shall include, but not be limited to:

1. desired and specific skill development;

2. type and length of assigned paper; and

3. content of grade level instruction in providing appropriate skills and understanding of research/term paper process.
